Mad Lab Shop started with a simple idea: art shouldn’t just hang on walls — it should live, move, and tell a story.
Founded by artist and designer Carissa, the Mad Lab is where skate culture, illustration, and experimentation come together. Every board, piece of wall art, and functional creation that comes out of the lab is treated as a one-of-one work of art. No mass production. No copies. Just original pieces designed to be ridden, displayed, and remembered.
But the Mad Lab didn’t grow from one person alone.
Before the brand ever existed, Carissa and Dominik were longtime friends who had both faced difficult chapters in life. Through shared experiences and resilience, they formed a deep bond built on understanding, creativity, and the belief that people can rebuild and create something meaningful from their past.
Dominik was one of the first people who truly saw the potential in Carissa’s artwork and creative vision. Long before the Mad Lab became a brand, he was already encouraging her to pursue it, pushing her to share her work, and constantly reminding her that what she was creating mattered.
As the ideas behind Mad Lab Shop began to grow, so did the collaboration between them.
While Carissa focuses on the artistic side — designing, painting, and creating each piece by hand — Dominik plays a vital role behind the scenes. He leads the studio’s creative direction outside the canvas, handling videography, photography, marketing, and production while helping shape the vision of the brand itself. He’s also the one constantly sharing the work with the world, introducing people to the Mad Lab and helping the artwork find the collectors and spaces where it belongs.
Together they built the Mad Lab as more than just a shop.
It’s a creative studio, an experiment, and a place where ideas are constantly evolving.
Every piece released from the Mad Lab carries the same philosophy:
Create boldly.
Experiment freely.
Never mass-produce creativity.
Today, the Mad Lab continues to grow through collaboration, storytelling, and a shared passion for turning skate culture and original artwork into something people can connect with.
Welcome to the Mad Lab.
