The Mad Scientist behind the Lab
I’m Carissa Lee
Artist, designer, entrepreneur, longboard enthusiast, professional problem-solver, and the slightly chaotic mind behind Mad Lab.
Mad Lab started the same way many businesses do—with a simple idea and absolutely no roadmap.
What began as a creative outlet eventually grew into something much bigger: a place where art, design, entrepreneurship, and adventure could collide. A place built for dreamers, creators, makers, and anyone brave enough to chase an idea that won't leave them alone.
Today, Mad Lab is more than a brand. It's proof that you don't need permission to build something meaningful—you just need the courage to start.
Built from curiosity, caffeine, and a refusal to quit.
Mad Lab started as a creative experiment and grew into a brand dedicated to helping others create, build, and chase the ideas they can't stop thinking about.

The guy who can build an electric skateboard from the ground up, troubleshoot just about anything, and somehow still capture incredible photos and videos along the way. As a master electrician and skilled fabricator, Dominik helps bring many of Mad Lab's custom projects to life while documenting the adventures that inspire them.
We didn't build Mad Lab because life was easy. We built it because we finally decided it didn't have to stay hard.
Our StoryFor years, our story existed on separate paths….
Built Different
Mad Lab wasn't built in a boardroom.
It was built through years of determination, creativity, problem-solving, and a refusal to quit when life got difficult.
Long before Mad Lab existed, we were living separate lives, each navigating our own challenges and learning how to survive situations that were far from easy.
Those experiences taught us resilience, patience, grit, and the importance of building a life that reflects who you truly are.
For me, those years were spent raising my boys, homeschooling, earning degrees and certifications, building creative skills, launching businesses, and showing up every day no matter what life threw my way. While many people only saw the accomplishments, those years taught me how to adapt, solve problems, and keep moving forward even when the path wasn't clear.
Years later, Dominik and I reconnected.
What started as friendship became a partnership built on trust, support, and a shared vision for something bigger.
More importantly, he became the kind of role model and father figure my boys deserved. The kind who shows up, keeps his word, teaches by example, and genuinely cares. He stepped into our lives with patience, strength, and a heart bigger than he will ever admit.
Today, he brings those same qualities into everything we build together. As a master electrician, creator, photographer, videographer, and custom electric skateboard builder, he's the engineering mind and hands-on builder behind many of the ideas that become reality.
Together, we created Mad Lab as a reflection of everything we value: creativity, family, adventure, freedom, resilience, and building a life you're proud of.
Whether we're designing brands, creating artwork, building custom products, riding the coast, or helping others chase their own dreams, our mission remains the same:
Create something meaningful.
Help people believe in what's possible.
And enjoy the ride along the way.
Because sometimes the best things in life aren't found.
They're built.
